The Story of Imma Bee
Help Us Celebrate the Release of our Latest
STEM Book, Imma Bee!
For a while now you, either at conferences or on the air, you’ve been hearing us talk about our latest STEM series for the “Littles” called Pollinate the Planet! From bees, to birds, to butterflies, we want to excite young learners about the importance of protecting pollinators!
Therefore, we are excited about announcing the release of Imma Bee! This is not only the first book of the new series, but the fourth book by our very own author Ashley Moselely, and the first book released by our new Inspire EdVentures Publishing imprint.
So you may be wondering, what is the story behind Imma Bee? Well…….
The Story of Imma
The story of Imma is actually part of the overall IE story. Dave Cox, one of our cofounders and a Professor of Biology, owns a small apiary in Springfield Illinois. From there, he developed a outreach program through Lincoln Land Community College to encourage interest in raising bees and bee conservation. This successful program spawned an afterschool program in apiary management for The Outlet in Springfield as well as a senior living facility in Boone NC. Every time we talked about bees, people asked for more bee content and resources.
After the development of the Into the Jungle series of books and STEM toolkits, Ashley recognized that there was a real opportunity to build a new series of books that introduced learners to the wonders of pollinators. Teachers and homeschoolers at several meetings enthusiastically agreed, and so we contracted with our award-winning team of Ashley and illustrator Katherine Rivera-Fuentes (Why Did the Tapir Cross the Street), to bring this story to life.
We couldn’t be happier with the results! And we think you will agree!
